Whether you work from home or use your home office to catch up on last-minute tasks, it’s always helpful to have a clean and organized space. Disorganization in your office can make it difficult to focus and cause you to waste time clearing a space on your desk to work. Most modern home offices include a number of devices, including computers, printers, and desk lamps, as well as chargers for mobile devices, leaving a lot of cables. Use these tips to clear out the cable clutter and help your space feel more organized.

  • Bundle your cables. The first tip is to bundle the cables that are close together, such as those that connect to your computer, monitor, and printer. Wrap them with a twist-tie, Velcro loop, or zip-tie so they’re in a neat bundle.
  • Mount the power strip. You can easily mount a power strip to the underside of your desk, keeping the cords out of the way. Use a Velcro fastening strip or sticky strip to attach the power strip to the desk and say goodbye to cords getting twisted in the wheels of your desk chair.
  • Upgrade to wireless devices. Some of the newer devices on the market offer wireless charging. Consider upgrading to these devices to eliminate charging cords from your home office.

By organizing your cables, you can enjoy a more appealing and safer workspace that doesn’t have tripping hazards around every corner.
